enclave | architecture believes that there are three primary elements to a successful residential design project: clear and consistent communication with the client, streamlined and organized coordination of the design and construction teams, and development of a strong connection between the home and its site. Prioritizing these three features throughout each project allows enclave | architecture to provide a higher level of client service and develop a more unique and customized home design for each client.

communicate

enclave | architecture focuses on establishing a strong and lasting relationship with each client: whether designing a remodel or a new home, we make client communication and coordination our first priority. We understand that because the project involves the client’s home, it is extremely personal. Each person involved on the client’s side has a strong opinion of how the home should feel and function, and it is the architect’s job to sort through those desires and structure the design of the project around the clients’ needs. We consider it imperative to work closely with our clients, ensuring that we hear each client’s goals and preferences and incorporate them as feasible into each design. Additionally, we are committed to consistently keeping clients in the loop throughout the design, approvals, and construction processes.

coordinate

As a firm created by a licensed architect, enclave | architecture understands the importance of coordination among the design team. No matter how small a project, there are easily a dozen people that will be involved at some level. On the design side, the client’s vision needs to be worked through with the structural engineer, civil engineer, and landscaper when applicable. When it comes to obtaining approvals for construction, there are permit techs, reviewers, design review committees, and building officials to be coordinated. And during construction, the client, contractor, and engineers - as well as representatives from the building department and the design review committee - all get to have a say in how the project is constructed. enclave | architecture has the experience and capability to manage the coordination of all parties to streamline this process.

connect

Our belief is that a home isn’t just a house, but is a collection of spaces where an individual or family builds a life. For this reason, enclave | architecture considers the design of each property in connection with the design of each structure. Instead of a house that simply sits on the land, we strive to create a home that maximizes the use of the space available on-site while minimizing its impact on the environment. The slope of a property, the orientation of the structures being constructed, and the placement of outdoor vs. indoor living spaces all have an impact on the livability of a home. enclave | architecture evaluates each of these elements, and more, in our standard design process. This level of detail allows us to develop a design for each client that connects each home with the site on which it sits, streamlines construction, and reduces long-term maintenance expenses.
